Election Day – Vote

Don’t Forget to Vote – June 7th Primary Last day to vote.
You can drop off your mail in ballot at the county clerk’s office in Atascadero or in San Luis Obispo as late at closing of polls at 8pm. Also, mail in ballots can be dropped off at the post office and postmarked to be eligible for counting.
If you prefer to vote in person, you must surrender your mail in ballot to the precinct worker where you will be issued a ‘live’ in person precinct ballot. These ballots are counted on the night of the election and will be updated in the result tally.
Mail in ballots are counted a tallied at the leisure of the county clerk. Mail in ballots received on June 7th will not be counted until later and may take weeks to be counted.
Some have brought into question the inherent faults associated with mail in ballots and are calling for a more secure and traditional way of voting by convenient precinct locations and one day voting by live ballots. (Exceptions will be made for legitimate adjudicated absentee ballots such as disability and military service abroad)
Either way, for your vote to count it must be delivered and processed. So, make sure your voice is heard and bring your ballot to many of the locations to drop it off
