Templeton Parade Celebrates Independence

Templeton had its annual Fourth of July, Independence Day celebration parade today. The parade is hosted by the Templeton Rotary club and while the club sponsors this event, they claim it “is truly a community produced affair” on their website. The Rotary club raises money for the event and estimates its cost about $6,000 while crediting generous donations from individuals, local businesses and local civic groups. Thousands attended with outfits, signs and flag-waving everywhere. Two emcee stations were located along the parade path making announcements as each participants would glide by. The parade started at 10am in Templeton, Ca. at Main St and Gibson traveling South on Main to 1st St then west on 1st and then south on Crocker to 8th St for a short leg then East on 8th and finally North on Main St and back to 1st St. for the final leg.

A pancake breakfast at the Templeton Fire Station before the parade started of the event. Family activities sponsored by the Templeton Chamber of Commerce followed in the Templeton Park followed.
