Estrella Road Fire in Paso Robles

At 1:35 p.m. on July 29th, 2026, a fire ignited on Estrella Road in Paso Robles, San Luis Obispo County. Cal Fire’s San Luis Obispo Unit quickly responded shortly after the Estrella Road fire was reported. The fire spread to 35 acres, burning on both sides of the Estrella Riverbed and into nearby grass and oak woodland. By 4:12 p.m., it was 30 percent contained. Firefighters stopped its forward progress by 4:50 p.m. that afternoon. Crews worked through the night, focusing on heavy mop-up due to the oak trees in the riverbed. By 7:22 a.m. on July 30th, containment reached 85 percent, with 32 personnel, four engines, one dozer, two water tenders, one crew, and air tankers on scene. The cause remains under investigation, and no structures were threatened.
